Hey all.
I have a Videologic Digitheatre and I was just wondering if it is possible for me to damage my speakers, either by leaving them on for extended periods doing nothing or playing music. I am really paranoid about falling asleep watching a DVD as I am afraid I my damage my kit.
Am I risking my amp or speakers by doing anything like this?
Thanks in advance.
Aye.
RE: Can I Damage My Kit?
I don,t know about the videologic but I would have thought no. Unless you have the volume set at -5000db. Infact it will proberly sound better if the amp is allways warm.
All the best,
Andrew.
Sorry to move off the subject blazingmonga, but I I`m thinking of buying the digitheatre until I can afford a more expensive set up.
Is it any good? I only have a small living room and thought the digitheatre would be ideal as a starting point into dolby digital!
I wouldn`t think that by the time it would take you to wear out your kit in this manner you couldn`t afford to buy a better set-up.
Unless you are a dole-waller that is.
So is it worth buying the digitheatre(its only £199.99 in currrys) as my first set up?
I don`t want to spend more than this as I will be buying a more expensive set up in about a year and a half.
RE: Can I Damage My Kit?
Ours has been on 24hrs a day for nearly two years and it still sounds great. There, I think that answers both questions.

Cheers Dave, now I just need to work on the wife.
Wish me luck!

I take it has got a ON/OFF button of some description......maybe not!

LOL
One on the decoder, one on the sub. The one on the remote only switches the decoder on and off, the sub one ( which controls the amps) is manual only so rather than having to bother to keep turning it on we just leave the whole thing switched on and just switch off the equipment running into it.

Oh, and good luck with the wife, gingerone. Mine is very pleased with the Videologic.

Hello,
I`ll go with Mr Bruce here(hows it goin son?).
My amp always sounds better when left on over night. Keeping the transformer warm and the circuits open means it doesn`t have to trudge its way back to life when you switch it back on after a lengthy period.
The only way you can damage it is just like Andrew say`s-overcooking it at road drill levels.
Hope this helps fella
