Newbie needs help (desperately)...
OK, I am buying some region 1 dvd`s (Gundam Wing) soon and need a good quality player for a max. £200
I don`t need 5.1 prologic sound, just a good quality multi region DVD player with good playback and sound (absolute min. VHS quality).
Any suggestions?
Right, I am very confused about the playback facilities on a DVD player (SCART, SCART RGB, S VHS, composite etc...)
My TV (Grundig GT 5550) states (in manual) that it supports signals from an NTSC video through its SCART socket...what does this mean?
Any help would be appreciated...
RE: Newbie needs help (desperately)...
it means that your tv will play american disk and tapes etc if played through a scart lead. I bought the cyberhome player from smiths for £99 its an amazing player . It supports dolby digital 5.1 ( not 5.1 prologic as you put it) It got some knocks on therse forums but Mine is fine and no problems. I recomend it.

Can anyone recommend a shop around the Manchester (UK) area...I have found 2: "Scan" & "Mail UK". Are there any others?
Mail UK does a RCE compatible Pioneer DV-340, is it any good?
RE: Newbie needs help (desperately)...
The `340 is a comparatively old model - the DV444 is the one to go for.
Mail UK are cool, in my opinion :-)
