Is it me or is Radio Ga Ga video tasteless in the extreme?

No I don`t mean the original version, I mean the Electic 6 cover version.

It has the lead singer dressed up as the ghost of Freddie Mercury singing in front of a gravestone which has Freddie`s real name with RIP underneath it, and then he`s a various other places such as a pub, a house still as a ghost singing along with a load of poodles who are also ghosts.

I wouldn`t of minded if he dressed up as Freddie, but to have him as a ghost dancing on a grave is very tasteless IMO.

I`ve seen this video and as u it is in bad taste.
The cover of the song is crap and makes u wonder do brian and roger who over-see the queen stuff now, really give a toss on what happens and who covers their music.
I think freddie would turn in his grave if he heard that version by electric 6.
Crap band and their music is crap.
u can never like a band that has a song called gay bar.

They seem to try to be as outrageous as possible to cover up the fact that they are s***e.

Freddy Mercury`s humour was exactly like that - I don`t see it as offensive. I`m not a big fan of Electric Six but they have said in interviews in the past that they are huge huge fans of Queen.

The song itself is a regular cover they play at their live gigs and a huge hit with the fans, hence its release.

The original song was a p***-take in itself so a p***-take of a p***-take means nothing really.

I think its hilarious. Especially when he emerges from a huge set of teeth. And if you actually watch the video properly there are parts which are clearly a respectful homage.

And yeah, u can never like a band that has a song called gay bar. seems like a bit of a twatty comment. Especially given the fact that you appear to be a Queen fan, the gayest band in the world (bar the village people).

Electric 6 are one of the best live bands I have seen. Real energy. Don`t get the gay bar comment either.

All the best,

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

I want to see the video now, I`m intrgued, gotta love negative publicity :)

I thought the album was OK, saw them live Southampton Guildhall, which is admittedly a crap venue, was disapointed by them aaprt from 2 "hit" singles, and encore of Radio Ga Ga, which was excellent. I remember saying to my gf as we left " it comes to somethign when the gig`s highlight is a cover version of a crap Queen song"!

I cannot wait to see this, And I`m sure Freddie would be laughing his head off at it.

I love Electric 6

I`m also a huge Queen fan, and it sounds like a real homage to the legendary man himself. Freddie was as mad as they come.

The whole quote was that the song and the meaning, title and the video was was a poke at the gay scene and even stereotyped gay in the video.
As a queen fan and a judas priest fan.Two bands with gay singers i did not see them singing songs about gaybars.Anyway electric 6 are crap, big crap, mega crap, total crap.
They should be ashamed to release that single.
