Opinions please. Should I buy it? I really liked Hot Fuss but have held off buying their latest albumn.

It`s ok, not as good as "Hot Fuss". I was really disappointed when I first got it, certain tracks have grown on me since, but it just hasn`t got the same energy and quality of tracks as their debut.
I`d "limewire it" if I were you... ;)
RE: Sam`s Town ......any good?
It`s my album of the year for 2006, I think it`s ace...

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...
And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

Couldn`t agree more - its ok but missing something.
My album of 2006 probably have to be The Feeling, `12 Stops from home`. Excellant live as well

I have to agree, decent album not as good as the first. There`s a few tracks I like and but must admit they are growers.
Album of the year for me was Rifles- No Love Lost. Most people won`t have listened to it up definitely worth checking out.
I keep meaning to check out The Feeling album. I think I quite like them, but I don`t actually know any of their tracks.

Was given a copy of this just yesterday and I must admit it is rather good!
Give The Feeling a listen - you`ll probably know more tracks than you think and hopefully enjoy

The Killers, great band! 8)
Really liked Hot Fuss and also like Sam`s Town.
I think that both Albums are of a similar standard and if pushed would vote Hot Fuss as the best but only (very) just!
Currently burning Killers Glastonbury VCD which I, (for some unknown reason) didn`t arrange to be recorded at the time, on DVD :(
Funny really, I hated Hot Fuss, but loved Sams Town...............
Just seems like a more mature sound, and that is what I like about it
RE: Sam`s Town ......any good?
Finally caught up with this...listened to it a few times and it was a mjor let down after the rather brilliant `Hot Fuss`. Notorius second album problems I`m guessing ....five or so years to write the first, a year to write the second whilst promoting the first. The Clash had a poor follow up to their first (with a couple of exceptions track-wise) but then came back with the blistering `London Calling` so let`s not give up hope
...! (IMO)
RE: Sam`s Town ......any good?
I agree with the crux of your arguement, but comparing The Killers to The Clash?! :o
