Page 1 of search-company.com always pops up when I search on Google - Help!

It appears that whenever I run a search on google that another window pops up direcgting me to other search engines - the first part of the address is www.search-company.com.

I have run adaware and spybot but it hasnt worked - can anybody help?

I have the same problem. HijackThis doesn`t work either. Any other suggestions?

A lot of these bogus `search engine` hijacks are variants of the CoolWebSearch (CWS) spyware, so it would probably be a good idea to run CWSShredder. You can pick it up from spywareinfo.com - make sure you get the very latest version.

Alternatively, try actually going on the website you are sent to.

A lot of the time they are not responsible for the link, and many provide a fix for it.

What do you mean - are you being redirected to Yahoo, or are Yahoo searches being redirected to other sites?

If it`s the latter, try CWSShredder as mentioned above - also try Spybot and Ad-Aware to rid yourself of any other lurking nasties.

I hate to depress you and mention this word but, reformat.

I`ve had the same problem which also disabled certain links within pages and tried every program recommended all with no result.
The only plus point that may give you a bit of hope is that in my case it had hijacked my homepage and no matter what I set it to within seconds it reset to the same search page.
