No pound or euro sign although you can set up some shortcut keys for this.

Funny arrangement of @ and " keys too. As long as you select USA keyboard layout, you`ll be fine.

The adapter will accept 110V/240V although you may need to replace the plug for a UK 3 pin spec.

I let my mind wander....and it didn`t come back.

It is worth checking the power supply that comes with it, make sure it is dual voltage, US uses 110v we use 230v, I think they all are dual now, you will also need a new mains lead, one with a UK plug on the end or a 2 pin adapter.

Apart from that I can`t think of any reason to not buy one there, unless you can get it cheaper here.

All the best

I bought an IBM thinkpad from USA a few years ago. I contacted IBM UK warranty support once I got back to the UK and they confirmed in writing that I had 3 years warranty on the laptop (note the 3 year warranty only applies to certain IBM models as far as I know).

If you are planning to bring the laptop back in person it may be a good idea to post the manuals etc and bring it thru custom in a laptop bag (make it look a bit used if possible). Less likely to get stopped than if you bring a brand new packed one with you!!
