On the lookout for a good radeon 9800 Pro

Faramir (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 24th July 2004, 18:45

Hi,

I`m looking to buy a Radeon 128MB 9800 pro. Can anyone recommend a good manufacturer of this card or has anyone had a bad experience with a particular card?

I also need recommendations on good online retailers to purchase from. I`ve checked out Dabs and Amazon. Can anyone recommend these or others?

Cheers

Faramir

Good card but I had trouble as it was power hungry and killed a power supply, even though it recommends 300w and i had 350w, my advice would be go for a 9600xt better performance, and should grab one for about £160 if u shop around.

I`ve got the Hightech ATI Radeon 9800 Pro which I`m really pleased with
It`s super quiet (compared to all my previous cards) and has a fan select speed on it.
It`s also over-clockable by quite a lot, due to the good cooling system.

It`s now around £160 on Ebuyer and has 75 very good reviews (5 stars) from all the people who own it.

or try the sapphire which is £30 cheaper, but as oem won`t come with the drivers cd (which will be out of date) or the free games (which will be out of date)
