Wanadoo Any Good?

Batavia (Elite) posted this on Monday, 27th December 2004, 14:47

Changed from Pipex (no problems) to One Tel (endless problems) for no particularlreason.
I have the opportunity to opt out of One Tel`s rubbish, at no cost.
Wanadoo are advertising speed of 1mbps for £17.99 a month. Sounds like a good deal, but are they any good? Don`t want to go through this One Tel fiasco again.
Or do I return to Pipex, cloth cap in hand?

Batavia, you`re a mind reader, I too saw the wanadoo add and want to cancel my pipex contract and go to them. So would be interested in any feedback.

I subscribed to this deal about 4 months ago, and haven`t any problems whatsoever.

Unfortunately, my phone line can`t handle 1Mbps and I have to pay the same for the 512Kbps service. I`m still pleased with it though, even more so as they haven`t yet started enforcing the download/upload usage caps, although this is likely to change early next year.

I want to leave pipex a) price and speed b) intermittent lost connection problems & loading of some web pages c) frequently slow speeds - which I`m told by pipex are usually caused by BT line :/ .

I felt pipex were good when I first used them but guess as their usage grew in the area their customer service and support levels suffered.

Whops I better check if my phone line can handle the faster broadband - thanks to who mentioned it earlier.

I used to have Pipex, and loved them, until they pulled a bloody con job on me. I always knew their customer service was appalling, but that didn`t bother me until they cancelled my account, lost my emails and stuff on the webserver, then had the utter cheek to charge ME for the account not being active for 12 months! wT[at]s

Just found out there is a cap of 2gb. There chart says 8 hours a day, plus other bits, equal 2db a month. I am on-line more than 8 hours every day. :/
