Page 1 of BEST LAPTOP SPEC. FOR UP TO £500? - ANY HELP PLEASE!

hi, im looking for the best laptop spec. i can get hold of for up to a max of £500 and would appreciate any help on this matter.

tall order mate,

Look in the dell outlet store, but don`t forget they lump on vat and delivery

Theres a nice on at Toys r us but its not really Top spec

Would help if we knew what you wanted to do with it?

Games - Very tricky on a budget
Long journey - Better chip = more expensive
Office/Web - easy but doesn`t require top end
DVD burning/playing - Possible but P4 chips eat battery life so looking at 2-3 hours life max

I would try Toysrus, Stapples/Office world, ask in the what laptop forum

i would just be using it for surfing etc, do you think a celeron m would be pretty quick in opening up windows etc, i ve seen a packard bell one, with celeron m 1.3ghz with 1mb cache with a cache that high it would be pretty decent speed dont u think!

There`s one on offer in Somerfields next week for £499, can`t remember exact spec but it looked nice :D Think it was a Medion.

have a look on Acers website..they have some solid laptops for a reasonable price.
