Can anyone recommend some DVD burning software??

Reversed (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 23rd June 2005, 00:41

Just got a DVD burner and am looking for some software that`s easy to use. Pinnacle studio 9 was recommended, but it seems to have a software conflict with the creative software I use for my MP3 player. Also tried Sonic mydvd, this seemed to have an issue with nero.

So if anyone can tell me of some good software I`d be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

For doin what?

for burning, you can`t beat Nero, but if you are looking at creating DVD-Video, then try the 14 day trial of TMPGenc DVD Author

just basic stuff, backing up my dvd`s and burning the odd DVD of wrestling i`ve downloaded for the kids.

Also, does anyone know of a good audio converter? just so I can convert stuff into 64kbs WMA`s for the MP3 player. just looking for something thats quick. (the nero encoder for some reason has never worked on my system, always freezes at 40%)

Nero for your basic stuff- the other is a bit harder to give an exact reply to as I don`t know what format the Wrestling will be in-if it`s a DVD compliant file then you`ll just need to author and burn it-Nero can do that for you, but if you need to turn it into a DVD complinat file, then you would need the Nero Recode add on-I don`t particularly like Nero`s DVD creation, and I really don`t like Recode, but they`ll do the job for you.

Audio Converter- DBPower Amp - best all in one there is around for my money. I don`t use WMA format, but I think there is a plug in that works with DB for that-oh, and it`s free!!

You dont neccessarily need to use a dvd burner Nero will burn these onto regular CDs with ease from memory...and experience. But you will need a divx dvd player to view them (avi files) on anything other than your PC though due to the compressed format. It does depend on the exact file size and format though.

He`s got a DVD burner so no point in bothering with CD burning except for audio CD any more. If you have a DivX playback DVD, then you can get loads of stuff on a single blank DVD

I don`t have a divX dvd player.

I tried DBPower Amp and it does exactly the same as nero, gets to around 40/50% then freezes the pc. I`d love to know why it does this.
