Anyone else having problems with itunes 5

stuartdurrant (Competent) posted this on Saturday, 17th September 2005, 11:43

I installed this yesterday and have had nothing but problems. Given up and gone back to 4.9 which works fine except I lost the music library data :(

Interesting problem with Itunes5 has been popping up - it fiddles with your DNS access, so internet use can be interrupted. My friend has a DLink router and had this issue.

I`m not sure which version we are on but unable to buy from the site-no idea why and Apple don`t know either-saves money I guess!!

I `upgraded` to version 5 and the playback became all stuttering and sampled (don`t know the technical expression!). Went back to 4.9 - no problems

Like someone already pointed out, there are issues with iTunes 5.0 on Windows. It`s fine on Macs though.

iTunes 5.01 is now available.

I dont know exactly what it fixes (and haven`t had any problems myself), but it might be worth giving it a go...

Yep got same problems as you guys but worse! Upgraded to v5 and it killed the settings on my Dlink router. Tried to roll back to 4.9 but wouldnt let me then as Quicktime had knackered aswell and couldn`t uninstall or even reinstall over the top.
Ended up having to do a system restore to before itunes was installed and reinstalling 4.9. All okay now and staying on 4.9 regardless as it suits my needs
