Page 1 of Firefox 2.0.0.1 update and incompatible Google toolbar - help please

Hi, just updated firefox to vs 2.0.0.1. In the process got a message saying my version of google toolbar was incompatible.

Completed the update then tried "add-ons", "google toolbar", still got message saying google toolbar version 1.0.20051122 not compatible with 2.0.0.1

I think its because my windows version doesn`t support the latest google toolbar, which firefox needs, whereas the older version of firefox did.

So what`s the best way round this?

what version of windows do you have ?

why do you need the google toolbar?

popups are blocked automatically, and there`s already a google search box.
