I`ve narrowed it down to these two, which one would you advise?

You get 3 years warranty with the Medion, but the Freecom has had really good reviews...?

Cheers in advance

The Aldi one appears to have eSATA connectivity (as well as USB2).
This is becoming more and more common and (from what I understand) provides a faster (more consistent speed at least) connection than USB2.0 does.

The Aldi one has only 8Mb cache, but I doubt anyone would actually notice any diffs.

Apart from those bits, I don`t think there`s much really between them (apart from the obvious price difference).

If you go for the Aldi one, make sure you get there early as they`re bound to haev ltd stocks, and ppl after the PC will prob snap them up as consolation.

Is the link correct that the freecom is £110?

Try http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131331 instead.

I`ve got a case that`s similar to the Aldi drive, case really isn`t up to much. I know someone with a Freecom drive (160GB) and the case has put up with a fair amount of punisment.

Yeah, it seems to have shot up in price from £77 in the space of a couple of days. :o

Think I`m going to plum for the "Freecom 500GB Basic" one at £70 from amazon.
