Page 1 of Ok Tablet or netbook???
PCs & Mobiles Forum
Right I`ve been thinking very seriously as a few of you have helped me regarding tablets, but then I started to think, what would I use it for exactly?
I do a lot of browsing, social networking, forums, use itunes a fair bit, and send emails....thats about it really all I do,
which would benefit me more I wonders??
Comments Please!
RE: Ok Tablet or netbook???
ImO, a windows tab would be preferable, the major concerns being how good the touchscreen interface is, & also, battery life, as much as I like android, a windows install is more flexible, but only if the touch controll translates well, if not, then all bets are off.

RE: Ok Tablet or netbook???
Edit= bear in mind, android was built from the ground up to use only a touch interface...

RE: Ok Tablet or netbook???
done a bit of mooching re- the previously mentioned windows tablet, tbh, since it`s not due out yet, i didn`t thunk i`d find much on youtube, but theres a pretty good review here...
there seem to be good points & bad points, i think the best advice is to decide if i`d buy it (if i had the money lol) & i`m on the fence, i`d love to have a play with it, but i wouldn`t buy it blind.

My best mate works for a VERY well known electrionics manufacturer and is in charge of business PCs.
He says the market for netbooks has been on, and will continue to be on the decline since Apple launched the iPad, and hence, others develop their tablets.
He even advised me against buying a netbook.
I would consider an iPad or an android based one. Windows is not an OS designed with a touch interface in mind, it`s bolted on. Also I`m not sure what you gain by getting a Windows based one? Other than an OS from a company with a proven track record in bloatware, security issues and whatever the opposite of innovation is.

When the ipad was first announced I wanted one.
But no USB, no card reader, & having to use itunes to get anything onto it killed it stone dead for me.
And i think its over priced.
I doubt the ipad2 will address these issues, so I`m going to buy my tablet with Google Android installed.

Hang on for this if you can`t decide..

I think the market for netbooks was in decline before the iPad.
For me, once the pricing, in comparison to a laptop, with OS etc. for a bit more, was taken into account, they`re quite expensive. Laptop processors were getting more efficient so the battery life differential was reducing too. But they are smaller. :)

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Hang on for this if you can`t decideDell have already released something like that- its called the Inspiron duo.
Seems a bit over priced for what you get, & the few reviews I could find put me off.
Hopefully, Asus can do a better job.....
