Anyone bought a DVD player from them?
Any feedback on service?
Do they stock the same players in their stores as on their online pages?

Got mine (a Sony 725D) just after Xmas from the Reading branch. Everything was excellent - the service, the price, cost of additional 2-years warranty with guaranteed buy-back price. I`d strongly recommend them.

One of their branches is dead cool - apparently there`s a policy of giving free Supercare cover if the box has been opened ! They bring them out from the warehouse, wink at you and say `Oh dear, the box seems to be open` - well it`s only a tenner anyway, but a nice touch !

Generally had good service from them - had to return a Pro Logic amp to them and had a replacement (not a repair model) by return of post

I recently bought a Clatronic DVD100, which is related to the Matsui DVD100, from them. It was not the cheapest or highest spec player (though it is multiregion and VCD compatible (not CDR)) BUT the big bonus with Richer Sounds is that for 20GBP you can buy an extra 2 years warranty, cheaper than the high-street rip-offs. In addition, provided you don`t visit them on Saturdays (when they tend to be very busy), the customer service is excellent.

No I don`t work for them :-) I just rate good customer service.

Same here, really good co to buy from.

I would visit a branch as the stock on the web site is a bit lacking - during the week the stores are pretty quiet and you can have a free coffee while you look around.

Only prob with dvd from them is lack of tv space for demo`s in some shops although they do a great 14 day exchange plan if it isn`t to your liking when you try it at home.

I bought my entire Home Cinema system from them last year (apart from my TV and DVD player).

The service was excellent.

No high-pressure sales.

I got to use the demo room to decide what I wanted.

Plus the neat thing with the extended warranty if when it runs out, you haven’t made a claim on it, you get the price of the warranty back.

100% service, I cannot fault them.

Regards

Bought a 535 from the Birmingham branch on Friday. Went in at 1745hrs, no crowds, no pressure. They do seem to have massive stock turnover as several of displayed models were out of stock.
Got the impression that staff knew what they were on about as well. The only shop I`ve visited that knew what RCE was!
Insurance package excellent too- how can you fault a 50% buy back in three years? Nice move- it will keep me going back to upgrade.
Players may seem cheaper elsewhere but Richer Sounds offer R1 machines over the counter, IMHO this all adds up to beating the Comets and Currys of this world hands down.
Just wish there were a few more branches...

I think they are excellent. I recently bought a DD amp from them but didn`t like the sound, so I took it back and got a better one with DTS as well, did the same with my centre speaker. There was no face pulling, no quibbles, just good service and no messing. Very helpful. Prestwich branch deserves a pay rise.

Yep - Norwich branch compact and bijou but staff eager to help ! - Trainee seemed a bit green, but whenever he floundered the more senior staff just piped up with required info ! Better service than ANY dixons, Comet, Tempo type establishment - they seem to know what they are talking about !

Bought some excellent speakers (Morduant Short £89) plus surround, sub etc.

Also bought a supposidly Multi-region LIMIT DVD player but it doesn`t play the one region 1 Disc I have bought (SHAFT) If anyone has any ideas as to whether there is a crack for this and/or why I might need one after buying multi-region I would be very grateful !
