If you are still waiting for a copy of CTHD like I am then you may like to know that the movietyme website has been updated again -
Please note there is now a delay on this title due to studio shortages in Hong Kong. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon will be shipped as soon as possible! Supply of titles from Hong Kong is not as efficient as obtaining from distributers/studios here in the US. We shall be shipping out the next wave of this title late next week
Please note this title is Region 3, Chinese Language (English, Chinese & Korean Subtitles), (Features include: 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen, DD 5.1 surround sound (Mandarin & Eng Dubb), audio commentery by Ang Lee and James Schamus in English with Chinese subtitles, costumes galleries & behind the scenes photos, talent files/weblink, conversation with MichelleYeoh + more. Also this is a Columbia Tri Star release so the Region 1 version may have RCE coding upon release!
Well done Martin, looks like you`ve finally stoped to actually read their website (after a small hint!), but best of all I like the way you`ve put "the movietyme website has been updated again" like it`s just happened or something! That `update` has been there for weeks now.
No wander Movietyme can`t be bothered to reply to emails when those sending it can`t be bothered to read their website first!
007.
Could`nt give a monkeys now though as i bought a copy off the shelf last week, and it seems nobody has got one to sell till March now anyways.

They posted me yesterday and said they were expecting a delivery on Thursday. I`ve waited 5 weeks so I guess another week won`t hurt. Safe to say I won`t be recommending them to anyone.
How do you know that it was "posted yesterday", when they are not replying to E-mails????
Well they replied to my mail:

Please confirm if this order for CTHD has been dispatched or not, After reading
the posting on your
web site I have patiently waited for over a month now and am ready to order
from other sources if you
are unable to deliver.
Regards,
TIM POWLESLAND
Movietyme seem to only be having problems the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I had "Meet the Parents" delivered yesterday (23/02/01) and its not even out until the 3rd March.
giarC[at]emyteivoM frequently visits http://www.thedvdforums.com, and recently had this to say:

Latest info of CTHD is good and well not bad but unbelievable!!
We have had more stock shipped that we will get Monday (at last!!) so look out for credit cards billed over the weekend as a quick way to tell if yours is in this wave (orders after Jan 16th approx will not be in this wave as we had our quantity cut, sorry)
Now to the intersting thing and this is only rumour from our distributors but (direct copy & paste from mail):
"For the current situation of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", the
supply is still very limited and we encountered difficulties to get the
stock. Moreover, there is rumour that the distributor in Hong Kong will
release this title on a new version without English sub-titles! All these
things causes a sharp increase in the price of this title."
Is this a move to protect sales of the R1 version??
I have never ever encountered such a terrible distribution of a title in this maner before ever, as you can see... what happens next is anyone`s guess.
