Hi,

This is something I discovered after putting some difficult questions to Philippe Adam, who runs the site. I was very close to supplying a lot of my personal customers and ebay customers, with what he constantly described as the Full Colour, Uncut Thai Edition DVD. However with the help of this forum and other Thai Websites, I began to ask him some uncomfortable question, which he took a dislike to. I also threatened to take the matter to the payment company he uses for credit card payments. This was enough for him to immediately refund the large amount of money I spent with his site and I have subsequently either refunded my customers or offered them the alternative of the Japanese R2 Edition.

I have since received a copy of Kill Bill from www.ethaicd.com and this turns out to be what me and my customers were going to get - cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4184444657&category=2302 and not the promised Uncut version.

This is him on ebay, selling the Cut release. I have also today received an email from an dvdfromasia customer asking after my Japan Edition. He says he received a Thai Edition DVD of Kill Bill from DVDfromasia and quickly discovered it to be the Cut Edition with B/W Footage, instead of colour.

All I can suggest, if you bought one from dvdfromasia.com is to contact the **** there called Philippe Adam on the following address - yabe-mada.lihp[at]ten.etsopal or yabe[at]moc.aisamorfdvd and demand your money back or confirmation of what you are getting. But be warned he doesn`t answer direct questions. And if he refuses and you`ve paid via Credit Card, then you should be able to get your money back via your credit card company - thank goodness I used this method!

If you want an inexpensive R2/R1 Cut of the film then the one at www.ethaicd.com is just like the one Philippe Adams is selling on ebay for around £13 and describing as a ltd Ed. But order it direct with ethaicd.com and you`ll pay around £6 Inc. I got mine in less than 5 days.

Hope this clears matters further. The ONLY UNCUT KILL BILL RELEASE is the Japan Edition and I`ve learned this the hard way.

So all the ones you were selling were actually CUT after all blackhawk? Bet that was a bastard for you, with all those eBay sales you would`ve made.

I was trying to order this all week from DVDFromAsia.com, but there was a problem with their payment system. Thank god!!!! Feel sorry for all those who`ve got f***ed over by this idiot.

Ordered my Uncut version of the Japanese version from cdjapan yesterday. :D

Still, good of Barry to be so upfront about this and clarify the situation for the rest of us.

Think I`ll wait a bit until the Japanese version drops in price. Meanwhile, might get the R2 UK version just to keep me goin`... ;)

just been on the web site and it has been removed off display.there is no mention now of the uncut version on there.
i have been waiting over 2 weeks for this and now i find out its not the right version. >:(

what are the best methods for obtaining a refund? The site claims it will refund any unopened item less shipping costs.

How can you get the credit card company to refund the amount?

just had a reply to my email from last night.

When we have make the pre-order of "Kill Bill Vol. 1 - DTS", the "seller" (I`m not shure about the exact word in English... "representative" or "representative seller" ?) tell us is exactely the same version like on Thailand cinema release, and when I have watch this movie in Bangkok, it`s not long time ago, so if I remember well, the final battle is in color.

All our "pre-order" stock is ship in three days with a huge quantity of presell, all the copies are ship and we don`t have a single copy for us to check.


In any case we have try to trick people into buying the cut version, but it seems to be a distributor problem with Miramax

i am not holding my hopes up about getting a refund as the site states it must be returned unopened, obviously people are gonna open them to check that if its the right version or not.seems like a big fob off to me and blaming the distributor rather than them admitting they have sent the wrong versions out and falsely advertised it as the full uncut version.
at least cdwow had the decencey to admit they were the wrong versions and give a full refund and pay for it to be returned.
this is one web site i will not be using in future.

If this is right, like its looking it is, they have ripped me off to ... I tried to cancel the order last week started getting a bit suspisious of them ,but they said its been shipped (not received it yet), ive just e-mail this site for a confirmation that I will be able to send this back + that they had a chance to view one of the dvd`s when they received them from the suppliers to confirm they were uncut before shipping... will let you all know what happens .. oh and we don`t need the childish "oh i told you so " brigade, because no one told me anything really >:( you live and learn as they say
