What is DVDBO Playing At!!!

STUDMANGAV (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 14th June 2001, 20:21

I ordered a a load of films around 2 and a half weeks ago. Some were pre orders others were out now. I have been sent some over the last two weeks and not recieved anything. Having ordered from them before I expected a package after around 10 days. I kept checking my account status to see if they sent my "Shining", no luck ( out now ) Then I asked my mate from work if he got all his dvds. He got his "Antitrust" and a couple of days after sending that, they then sent him "Vertical Limit" He has not yet recieved the latter although it was sent a little under a month ago.

I then checked this very forum for some form of an update and found alot of you are having problems with "Traffic" and many other films.

I also saw another friend of mine who orders from DVDBO. I asked if they are waiting for orders. She told me they were and her husband had sent e-mails with no reply. He got so p***ed off that he even rang them up only to get an absolutely useless answerphone message. So as his last resort he has e-mailed the police in canada, Who are now looking into it!

My final straw came when earlier today I managed to get on the site and found that nothing else has been sent. I expect they are ditching all uk customers for the time being due to them decieving customs, as we all know how they package their shipments to us ( tax free )
Just now though I thought I would send them an E-mail to ask "What the **** is going on with my money and dvds?"
The site is not responding.

Sorry to go on but you can see how miffed I am.
Can anybody shed some light?
Do you work for customs and excise and fancy enlightening us?

What the hell are u talking about, all the r1 etailers dont pay the import tax, you pay it if its over 18 quid.

and DVDBO are not dumping UK customers.

One time, I was wondering why the hell my DVD`s were just sitting waiting to be processed when they had been in stock from the day I ordered them. A quick phone call revealed I had entered the wrong credit card details. Maybe this has happened? An easy mistake to make given all those digits. Get in touch with them nad see what they say.

This is a posting by sportsmimic referring to traffic
" My copy was shipped on 24th May - still hasn`t arrived.
Maybe it`s caught up in itself!!!"

Somethings going on that is for sure.
Looks like they are lying that its been shipped or something and why dont they reply to the many emails that uk customers have been sending?

I was invoiced on 6th June for a copy of Coyote Ugly from DVDBO - keep expecting it anyday, but I`m a little worried now. I know it`s only been like 9 days since the invoice but should I be worried???
(About the disk coming that is - I know I should worry about the fact that I bought the film in the first place!!!).

I placed my first order with DVD box office on 10th May. Everyone was saying on the newsgroup that orders generally take up to a month to be delivered, though I didn`t realise they mean`t from the date of the invoice rather than the date of ordering.

My order was despatched on 23rd - which means they tooks two weeks just to get my order before it was despatched to me! I still havent recieved it yet (15th June today).

I`m sorry, but I think they are crap. I only used them because I couldn`t get the film I wanted in the UK - so from now on I`ll be using play247 only

It may be that DVDBO are using Belguim again as the european hub to deliver!

I dont know why they tried belgium at the start of the year and it was very slow.

so they stopped.

you are entitled to your oppinion but I have spent a 1000 dollars (can) for myself and others and know what I am talking about how much have you spent at DVDBO?

I emailed janice at DVDBO

Hello,

Delivery times are extremely dependant on your postal system and customs. You package was sent first class airmail and on average it takes 7 to 21 days to take delivery provided that there are no delays along the way with customs or your country`s postal service. Sometimes delivery times can be quicker than the average and sometimes it can take longer.

We do not consider a package "lost" until 8 weeks has passed from the date on the invoice. If you havn`t received you package once eight weeks has past, please contact us for further instructions.

If you are interested in an alternative method of shipping, which has gaurenteed delivery times, please email us at sredro[at]moc.eciffoxobdvd for further details.

Once again we do apologize for these delays.

Thanks

That is pretty much the same reply that I got Duke. I just don`t get why I have always recieved my orders within ten days but now we are all waiting over a month. 8 weeks!!? I mean I could of rowed there myself and got my copy of castaway in that time and I expect I would of had time to give Mr Hanks a lift to shore too!
