Is anyone else having problems with play247? My simpsons box set is listed as being posted 3 weeks ago (not had it) and they aren`t replying to my e-mails and the phone is constantly engaged.

I`ve had no problems with them at all, but from several other postings on this site you`re not alone. Also had no problems in calling them, generally getting picked up after 3 or so rings. I`m surprised The Simpson`s hasn`t turned up yet to be honest. Got mine ages ago.

Is anyone else still having the worst time in the world trying to contact Play247? I`ve heard good things about them generally (is this wrong?) but I can`t get through to their customer service for love nor money - the 0845 number seems like its off the hook, and the 01534 number is never picked up. And today I can`t seem to access the site even, although that may be me.

Is anybody having any luck with them at the moment?

I have finally gotten through to them (telephone), and another Simpsons box set is being sent out (when it`s back in stock). They never did answer my e-mails, though.

My wife and I, rather stupidly, have organised a dinner party for Saturday night for 3 other couples where, after wine food and song the evening will culminate in viewing Bridget Jones`s Diary. When I have pre ordered from Play in the past I`ve tended to have received the dvd before the release date . Today is BJD release date and Play are saying that they are awaiting stock. Why is it that the one time my plans revolve a delivery date there is a hold up?????????
Could it be anything to do with dvdboxoffice not having the release date down for another week?

p.s If anyone gets hold of a copy from elsewhere I will pay good money to rent it from you over the weekend - seriously!

I don`t think there is a hold up on the release date of BJD, I have just checked out the DC-DVD Site and they have got them in stock, I know how you feel tho, I`m waiting on it from play as well

Just a quick question... How did you manage to get through to them? On the 01534 number or was the 0845 number free again? Or do you have a secret number... ? :-)

I`m desperate to get through to them - my Complete Superman Collection DVD boxed set has been on since last week now, despite my card being charged. I can handle a slight delay, but it bothers me when money has been taken and I can;t get any information.

Winge winge moan moan, I know. Sorry.

I cancelled my BJD order and am seeing how I get on with www.futureent.com for that one - same price and they seem to think it will be here for the weekend. Maybe try that option for the dinner party, Superflyguy?

Any advice on how to contact Play247 is much appreciated, by the way.

I finally got through on the 0845 number, after one hell of a lot of persistance. I know how you feel about all the waiting - I was on the verge of cancelling all my orders with them (no small amount of them, either), but decided to persevere as they are usually very good (even if much slower lately)

They`ve now changed the release date to 16/10/01 so that`s my dinner party out of the window - cheers Play!

I have managed to get in touch with Play several times, though not without a lot of will power to actually keep trying untill the phone rings and then waiting for wh knows how long in their queing system. What have i found out? Nothing I ask them about my order and the say `Oh three to five days` they have said that twice now, after i had given them the grace of three days that is, and the fact my order status has not budged since the thursday and monday that i ordered my dvds.
Whereas this sounds like a bit of a rant, which it is i suppose, I am also willing to play advocat as well, they are a busy company if you think about it and it must be hard for them to fulfil everyone. Although updating ordering statuses and simple things like having an automated reply system for the emails if they are busy so we dont feel ignored would be nice. Sorry to go on but as i am a student and have virtualy wasted two phone cards talking to play I feel inclined to air a view.
