ICESAVE Bank the bank from hell.
I invested in this bank in November, & when I went on line to check, I could not log on due to them "NOT RECEIVING MY MONEY" which was sent via BACS, I gave them my bank details & said that they would ring back-
Guess what did they ring back? NO
Try ringing their non-geographical number 0845 605 6050, they say that you may have to wait "upto" 20 mins, Quess What- I was on hold for 55 mins before I put the phone down. Wasted my telephonecall charges !!!
Trying Emailing them, all you get is the automated Email.
Finally, I lost my temper, & emailed them that as they didnot answer the phones nor that they replied to the emails or rang back when they said they would, I was going to report them to the FSA & the Banking Ombudsman.
This morning they did RING me & asked again for all the details that I had already supplied them & promised that they would ring me back today. Did they ring back? No they did not!!
Iam not a happy man at the moment.
I will be writing to thier complaints dept & also will be contacting the banking Ombudsman.
Am I the only one who is experiencing problems with them? >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
RE: Icebank The bank From Hell
They are completely useless.
Asked us to make the initial deposit, without yet having all our account details... erm, so how do I get it out again if I need to ? Emailed them several times - each time the "we will get back to you within X days." went up ! 7, then 10, then 14 etc etc.
Binned them off - went with Bradford & Bingley e-saver. Not quite as good a rate, but British, and really good customer service.
Still no joy.
I emailed FSA, who emailed me back with the address details of the Icebanks complaint Officer.
FSA also told me to ask them to spell out their Complaints procedure.
I emailed & also sent a letter to the \Complaints officer, but guess still no reply !!!.
How the ph**k can you get an answers from these waste of space idiots?
I will keep spamming emails to them everyday for 7 days & then I will pass it over to the Banking Ombudsman.
I also have an a/c with Bradford & Bingley. They pay a reasonable rate of interset (5.6%) not as much as Icesave, but atleast you acn get your money when you need it.
I invested the minimum (£250.00) to earn 5.7% and was going to transfer the rest after a/c was up & running, but now, I will stick with Bradford & Bingley !!!!
ICESAVE is a UK bank, part of the Icelandic Bank. Their customer service is in UK.
My credit card company`s customer service is based in India & they answer the phones within 3 mins & are ever so polite & professional. But in UK, the customer services are crap!! apart from Bradford & Bingley !!!
RE: Icebank The bank From Hell
Never heard of them.....just my opinion, but I wouldnt put my money with a bank I had never heard of
If you have a regular amount to save (up to £250 a month) then there are some great rates available just now, albeit for a limited amount of time. I am currently getting 10% from Alliance and Leicester. ONlY for first year, then i will close and move on. I saw 12% advertised recently, poss by HSBC. Down side is you have to open a current account with them and pay in 500 a month. I have a standing order set up to transfer the £250 balance back to my "real" current account.
