HMV Summer Sale starts this Thursday 26th. Link on web site is not working, at present, so don`t know what will be in it.

Well, let`s guess shall we?

Dune, The Usual Suspects, Singing in the Rain (the original issue), various Hong Kong Legends titles, Run Lola Run, etc at 9.99. In short, I should guess that barring about three discs which some over-worked sales assistant has mispriced, they`ll be the usual load of stuff.

HMV always have a good Summer Sale. Last year I got lots of DVD`s at £5.99. So I think there will be a few bargains in here.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how wrong it is ;-)

HMV do seem to carry the most comprehensive selection in the high street. I have seen some quite obscure titles.

Currently they have Stargate DVD`s (4 ep per disc) at £6.99 compared to the £19.99 for the latest few which is what you pay elsewhere. This is one case where DVD is cheaper than VHS as they charge £13.99 for 2 eps only per tape. Trouble is I`ve already recorded most of the earlier eps and can`t really justify even this low cost.

The sale is not that good. Most are £9.99, and the usual stuff you can get cheaper on the Net. Only the occasional £4.99.
Nothing I want at £9.99, that is for sure.

Twin Peaks box set at £29.99 is the cheapest retail price anywhere I know of.

Austion Powers, Spy Who Shagged Me and Goldmember at £5.99, again cheapest I know of for Region 2.

The fist Austion Powers is £9.99.

Not amazing, but cheap if you want them.

I will go for the Twin Peaks, been after that for a while.
