Just pre-ordered this from amazon.co.uk.

I think this is a bargain for the Region 2 version. Play have this on pre-order at £69.99 at the moment, but I guess that may change nearer the time.

If you order, make sure you choose the free delivery option (standard checkout assumes you want to pay for delivery, about £1.50 I think).

I have the original boxset but am very very tempted to get this but have already got the Indy boxset and LOTR:TT Extended on Pre-Order!! What`s a man to do??

Good spot on choicesdirect, though using dvdpricecheck.co.uk this shows amazon the cheapest, hence my order (now cancelled).

region 1 is cheaper, but you cannot be sure of not being charge import/vat duties etc.

I`m puzzled by your findings Bunnster...

How is £44.99 from Amazon cheaper than £42.84 from ChoicesDirect? :p

Also DVDSoon are Customs friendly. They label the packaging with the value of the goods to be below £18. People on this forum tend to use them because of this, especially with big value orders as I have in the past. This is also true of amazon.ca.

the results show amazon to be the cheapest, with choices direct at £52.49 (yes I know now this is wrong, but at the time I didn`t recheck every site!) :-)

so with my limited abilities, £44.49 appeared to be cheaper than £52.49, and hence my original order and original post in this forum.:-O

On restudying my A Level maths course, I do also agree that £42.84 is cheaper than £44.99, and hence my subsequent post about cancelling my order with Amazon.:-)

Sorry for misunderstanding your posting - my mistake. I`ll restudy my English course. So the `A` Level Maths did come in handy after all! :D

Enjoy the boxset when it arrives. I guess you did the right thing ordering R2 anyway to get the crisper transfer as opposed to NTSC. The difference in price is minimal. Plus choicesdirect have a very good reputation - it will come very well packaged to ensure the box is not damaged.

In effect, you are getting the boxset for £4.76 per disc - what a bargain!!! :)
