Simpsons £17.99 @ Play247

I know this has already been posted but todays news on this site has it down with an RRP of £39.99 so at £17.99 it is a serious bargain. They are taking pre-orders for it.....

It certainly doesn`t appear to be a mistake, does it ?

I ordered this when the first posting http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=223&Thread=45707 was made on 5th July 2001.

Always useful to have a reminder, I think !

It may not be a mistake but something sure is wrong.

Play are listing the region 1 with release date 1st october, the news on this site says date for worldwide release is 24th sept. Ok it may be a printing error, but if it is worldwide release, that means R2 is also out then(whichever date it is).

Why aren`t play listing that then?

If it is a worldwide release date i`d rather buy the R2. Anyone seen the R2 version at this kind of price?

Are the R1 and R2 versions the same. I know they are both three disc sets and packaging seems identical, but do they have the same features?

I`ve ordered this already. To all those who r undecided why don`t you order it then if the R2 is the same and the same price then cancel the Play247 order.

Certainly agree that the first series were badly drawn, and Castanetta hadn`t quite got Homer`s voice right. But who cares - it`s the stuff of legends. Let`s hope the whole lot are coming out...

i fancied getting this, but after reading how play247 actually store credit card details on an offline server, this has put me right off. Even if it is "under lock & key", whats to stop someone breaking in and getting access to the lot. I dont know if `switch` is covered under such cricumstances - anyone else know?.

Someone once told me that it is actually illegal for a shop to permanently store card details - maybe this has changed.

dont be put off by this system! working in retail has its advantages so ill explain; when they store your credit card details it means that they have your name+address etc with the details you gave when you first logged on to the site.HOWEVER,these details are then scrambled,i.e it will look like this
card number **** **** **** 1234
so there is no way anyone or any of plays employees can get access to your account.the details you give are then just a link so the product gets sent to the right address.

okay now?

westty :-)
