Discs to avoid like the plague!

Has anyone bought any discs that turned out to be so bad that you feel you have to warn people to avoid them?
I`ll start the ball rolling with Cinema Club`s truly awful region 2 release of "The Shawshank Redemption" which boasts some of the most glaringly obvious compression artefacts ever witnessed!
AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!

As much as I admire Troma`s off-kilter releases the DVD of Surf Nazis Must Die must go down as one of the most appalling pieces of audio production ever. Whilst it`s only ProLogic, was there any specific need for all the dialogue to come out of the front left speaker ONLY ?

D`oh !!!

Yi Yi Region 1 is the worst transfer you`ll ever see. The trailer looks ten times better than the film (which is very good).

Anything with a Mr G Cloony in it.

All the best,

Night of the Living Dead - 30th Anniversary Edition must be one of the worst releases of a classic film in the history of DVD. The film has been "enhanced" by 15 minutes of abysmal new material and a soundtrack performed on a Casio organ (although the picture quality is ironically the best out of all of NotLD`s numerous releases). George A. Romero had absolutely no input into this pile of crap.

Haven`t seen the extended version yet, but from all the bad reviews I`ve read I don`t think I want to!
However I do have a remastered version of the original cut with the new soundtrack on it and I know what you mean, that music is so f*!*!ing repetitive it drives you nuts!, the picture really does look great though, which is the really annoying thing.
Anybody counted the number of different releases there have been for this film, seems like there`s a new one out every week!

Oh and while I`m here I thought of another disc for the list,
Communion Region 4!
The biggest problem with this disc is that, like the discs mentioned earlier, this looks like it was mastered from a VHS tape!!
Wouldn`t be so bad if it didn`t say in big writing on the box- "REMASTERED FROM A BRAND NEW 35MM PRINT!"
Also the box lists an audio commentary as one of the special features, what it neglects to mention is that this audio commentary is only on the deleted scenes(or deleted SCENE as there is actually only one and it only lasts a few minutes).
crap!.......just total crap!!

The R2 release of Olivier`s "Richard III" which unfortunately seems to be the only one available. In every frame there are hundreds of white specks, and at times green distortion (lines and big blobs), there are one or two places where the picture jumps as well. The sound wasn`t as bad although there was constant hissing. The source seemed to be from a worn out vhs. I had to return it and get back the £11.99 I wasted on it. Shame really since it`s a great film, and someone ought to give it the treatment it deserves.

The original Region 1 release of Highlander is "The Worst Transfer of a Motion Picture on to Dvd Ever™"
