Has anyone experienced any problems with the sound on Firefly?
Played mighty fine for me.
Whudyu order a dead guy for?
I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.
It just sounds generally poor to me in certain episodes, but I was choosing to assume that it was just poorly mixed.
However last night there was a big dropout in either `Our Mrs Reynolds` or `Jaynestown` (can`t rememmember which). I think it was the first episode, as it was just as the shuttle detached from the ship. Played it several times and it kept happening.
NB: NOT the layer change as the pictures kept moving.

RE: Firefly DVD Problems
Mine played perfectly as well. Must be your copy. ;)
OK. I`d really appreciate some help here.
I`ve now got a replacement disc from amazon with exactly the same problem. (Tried it on different machines).
It`s in Our Mrs Reynolds at 29.43. The sound drops out for about 1/2 a second.
Do Amazon have a bad batch, or will I get this same problem wherever I go?
I won`t be anywhere near my copy until Tuesday at the earliest :(

That`s OK, I`ve got a few weeks to send it back.
If I`m not mistaken all scenes in space, explosions and the like are silent to add a sense of realism. It is intentional as I remeber seeing these scenes when they were originally broadcast. My DVD`s also have this "dropout", I have to admit that scene you described is a little disconcerting.
Yes, but there`s music playing, and the music drops out.
I think I`ve probably seen enough of that by episode 7 to avoid wasting everybody`s time with something that stupid.

Its not stupid, nor a waste of time.
