You know, I`ve been waiting ages for Burton`s two Dark Knight films (I bought his first barebones, crap transfer version really cheap). But after Batman Begins I can`t watch these hollow incarnations.

But knowing me, when the release date comes around I`ll get them :p

As the saying goes, I couldn`t fail to disagree with you less! I`ll give this a miss and wait for Nolan`s interpretation(s) to make their way to DVD.

Chewie - you never fail to amaze me! (lol) I definitely wouldn`t call them hollow - they`re just different adaptations. I mean - if you add in the mix the B+W serial, the original 1960s series (many people`s favourite) and the Animated Series (my personal favourite), you have 5 very different incarnations/versions of the character - each one has their own particular merits and none of them can be called the "definitive" version (it`s just personal opinion). I know for a fact that a lot of fans aren`t keen on "Begins" and for them, the 60`s series will always be the best/definitive Batman (step forward Mr Oates ;) ).

I love "Batman Begins" - but I also love the first three Batman movies (the first two in particular). I loved the darkness, tone and "weirdness" they had (and the Batmobile was so much cooler/more faithful than the "tumbler" in "Begins"!).

Can`t wait for this set - I was hoping for that deleted scene in "Forever" when he comes face to face with a giant bat (as shown in the trailer), but I guess we won`t be getting it. Should be interesting to see the "Alfred`s lost love" deleted scene - and what JS says about "Batman an Robin"....

:D

I agree (not having seen BB) & prefered Batman Returns to Batman.

I had one friend who thought that the murder of Bruce Waynes parents in Batman, was pure invention for the sake of the film, it took quite a lot of convincing her, that the 60`s TV series convienently skipped over that part of the back story & this Dark Knight was closer to the spirit of Batman, perpetually seeking to avenge & prevent others from loosing loved ones in a similar manner.

I know Batman has had many `tones` over the years, but Burton`s Batman was clearly influenced by Frank Miller`s comics. And Batman Begins borrowed more than a little bit from those particular stories.

I can`t relate to the other Batman flicks, they`re nothing more than a comedy sketch to me.

Batman Begins is one stroke short of a masterpiece, only stumbling slightly in the last act. Burton`s Batman changed the story to a point where something quite important to the story becomes contrived. Plus, Burton`s a great production designer, but rarely a great director. Nolan knows how to contruct and direct brilliantly, as shown by his last three films (haven`t seen The Following though).

But that`s my opinion ;)

I`m not hurting, s*** is s***, and for you to say that Burton`s version of Batman is hollow, is a bit like pot calling the kettle black.

p.s. I`ll leave the lubricant, as I`m sure you`ll need it when Lucas presents more CGI infested s***e for you to take up the arse. :p
