Well? Whose your favourite?? Everyones saying how great Daniel Craig is in the new Bond film but is he the greatest ever?

He can`t be the greatest ever until he`s done a few films at least...

What`s the f*cking point? Connery wins every damn time somebody trots one of these polls out. It`s like a reflex.

Somebody could come along and do the definitive Bond tomorrow - nail the look, do the books verbatim. Ian Fleming could rise from the grave, point at this guy and say "That`s the bugger! That`s James Bond!!"

Then you`d do a poll and f*cking Connery would win.

My own personal favourite is Brosnan though I haven`t seen the new film yet.
Delighted to see that Lazenby is currently on zero.
Mark Kermode constantly bangs on about OHMS being the best Bond film when it`s obviously total crap.
You could go to the nearest wood yard pick up any two short planks and they`d act Lazenby off the screen.

Lazenby may only have been chosen because he could ski and is hardly the most charismatic man ever to grace the silver screen but OHMSS has the best story (and follows the book more closely than any other), best Bond girl, best setting and, because Lazenby is wooden, there are few, if any, of the cheesy one-liners that grace so many Bond films.

FWIW, Connery has the best mix of charm, sex appeal, menace and sheer acting ability of anyone who`s played Bond until Daniel Craig. If Craig matches his performance in Casino Royale in another couple of films, I would place him higher than Connery.

No, sorry. Moores only better than Lazenby because he can act with both eyebrows.
Moore taking the part of Bond actually put me off the whole franchise for a long while.

Diana Rigg best Bond girl?
Best actress to play a Bond girl by a mile but not the best eye candy.
I don`t see sticking close to the book as necessarily a guarantee of a better film and to say Lazenbys lack of acting ability reduced the one liners is one hell of a back handed compliment.

Saying that, I can`t see how the bar of right and wrong can be set by a proponent of Brosnan as best Bond. After Goldeneye, he ceased being a notable 007 and simply pounded his way through three entries in the franchise performing as a smug git in a suit.
