Page 1 of Soul Caliber 2, which version GC or Xbox

Which version should i get?? this is a deciding factor in which console i buy 8)
(more money than sense at the moment)

If you`re going to buy a console solely to play this game get the cheapest - they are both great versions. If you are likely to play other games on the console get the one that your mates have (so you can swap games and get some banter going), or the one with the most games you`d like to play. Both are great machines..

I would say Xbox.

If you like Link from the Zelda-series, get the GC-version :)

Get the gamecube version, then visit www.playasia.com and get a playstation pad adapator for £5 and a PS2 dual shock pad, and you`ll have the best of both worlds.

True.. the GC-gamepad seems a bit f***ed up for fighting-games at first... but you learn quite quickly :)

Having played it on all three consoles, I personally prefer GC. They all look very good, but I don`t like the XBox pad, it doesn`t feel right to me. I`m buying the GC one with Double Dash, F-Zero and Billy Hatcher.... :D

I read this concerning the PAL release of the gamecube version:

Haven`t seen this mentioned yet so here we go...

Us highly respected and looked after PAL gamers get this for 6 months extra
development time...

1) Opponents AI has been "enhanced": its now fooked to high heaven, taking
suggestions that the JAP release was too easy, they boosted the difficulty
to make fights boring as hell, as AI fighters just block constantly then
release unblockable hits. Apparently the game is now not nearly as fun as
the NTSC edition.

2) Three new characters: Last minute additions (so late they didn`t bother
with a list of character moves)

3) English "dubbing": crap English voicing, badly edited so the fighters
keep speaking over each other and cutting each other off.

Reasons to be thankful: apparently the PAL GC release is the best of the 3
(GC, XB and PS2), even graphically, although some slowdown and clipping is
evident on all 3.

So next time a company takes over 6 months to convert a game to PAL, you
know what they`ve been up to :)

lol makes me glad I`m not buying this at all. I have SC1 on Dreamcast, and for those out there that have the original and thinking of getting number 2... don`t. Nothing at all has changed, same gameplay and no real visual improvements, which is kinda naff, seeing as there has been a 4 year gap between the two!
