Can anyone recommend a program for converting wave files to Mp3 please? Spent 2 hours looking for one last night, with no luck

Could download realone player (formally realplayer) and use that. Download the free version though. Haven`t tried it myself yet so others may be able to go into more details.

Goldwave is what you want. Bought it about 7 years ago and use it for ripping CD to MP3 (copyright permitting...) and converting formats, including .WAV to MP3

Clayts I already use Cdex, it's a great ripper, but thanks anyway, cos I've just downloaded dbPowerAmp Music Converter as well.

CD-DA x-tractor is excellent and simple, free from tucows.com or download.com
Streambox Ripper.... if you find the right version.. you can convert Real Media FIles into MP3 or WAV as well
