Page 1 of Things you just don`t understand

The odd few people don`t care why anything is the way it is, whilst another odd few care about why everything is the way it is, with most of us all being inbetween. I`m far more nearer the caring end of the scale, but there really are just some things I cannot understand.

Perhaps someone can help answer these for me?

Bigger on the inside

I don`t understand the concept of "nothing". I mean this in space terms. If there is an edge of the universe, what exists beyond the edge?

This is something I always think of when watching those space documentaries. How can there be nothing? There must be something. But the universe can`t go on forever, surely?

1) Who insures insurance companies?
2) Who audits the Audit Commission?

The universe is relative to where we are, it begins and ends where we are at the time, if you are at home your universe begins and ends there, and the end of the world happens when we die.

Well thats the way I have always looked look at it, and it stops the thought headaches.

I struggle more and more with the concept of life and the univervse nowadays, such as what is the meaning of life, why has it been created, by whom and what happens when we die? Is death an essential part of living? Is it more than just the end of conscious existence?

How can so much suffering and evil take place in the world, and such a small amount of good, in comparison? And I also struggle to understand this philosophy:

"If the universe is infinite, then there are infinite possibilities."

That equates to the fact that in a parallel universe someone identical to yourself is living an identical life, bar even one change - i.e. this website may be called DVDD Reviewr. Every other thing in that person`s life would be exactly the same. And in another universe the site would be the same yet the person would have brown eyes etc.

Religion makes me wonder, as does threads like these. My head hurts.
