By thisi mean by any means possible (spaceship, airplane, helicopter, boat, car lorry running etc)
1. Ronin(class)
2. Taxi(breath taking)
3. MI:2 (bike chase)
4. T2
5. World is not enough (boat chase)
Whats yours? PS The Corrupter chase scene sucks way hyped up too much
RE: Greatest chase scenes in a movie?
The car chase at the end of Blues Brothers is terrific and has some great "Behind the wheel" POV shots mixed in. No slow-motion whatsoever either, just a super fast chase with endless scenes of vehicular destruction.
RE: Greatest chase scenes in a movie?
I would have to say the car chase from French Connection is the best for me - better than Bullitt. Gone in 60 seconds (recent version) is pretty good too. I heard the 1970`s version rocks as well.
Pod race was really good.
Foot chases: North by Northwest, and a movie called Run with Patrick Dempsey had a lot of suspense too.
I`d say the best chase scenes were in -
Bullitt
The French Connection
Mad Max 2
1. Ronin (the documentary on it was ace as well) - the tunnel scene is just the best ever.
2. French Connection - superb, white knuckle ride
3. Bullitt - ditto
1. Bullit
2. French Connection 2(on foot)
3.Wacky racers each week:P

Mad max 2
Ronin
French connection
And not strictly relevant, but Steve McQueen and that motorcycle.
RE: Greatest chase scenes in a movie?
I agree with Tony. It has to be the Blues Brothers, purely due to the excessive destruction of police cars. Then it`s Ronin.
What about Vanishing Point? The whole movie is basically one big car chase. Crap ending though!
RE: Greatest chase scenes in a movie?
I`d have to say the boat chase in "The World Is Not Enough", class absolute class, David Arnold`s score for that part of the movie is brilliant.
Also...
"Ronin" and would you class the section in"Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom" in the mine carts as a good chase.
Also the end bit in "T2" where he chases them in a helicopter and then a truck.
RE: Greatest chase scenes in a movie?
I also agree with everything everyone has said so far.
I also saw a Jackie Chan film last night called "Thunderbolt" (I had never heard of it either). Anyway, the race/chase at the end of that was f*cking brilliant! Some of the funniest crashes I ever did see.
Maybe I am insane though.
