I will be 44 this year and want to do a few exciting things this year (unusual holiday maybe) and I have also decided to learn to play the guitar (major challenge for me as I am totally tone deaf and know nothing about music.

Mine would be to go to the Cinema more. Last year I hardly went, not because I couldn`t be bothered, but there wasn`t ANY good films that made me want to go out and watch.

The summer blockbusters was poor, Spider-man was ok, it was just the ending was such a disapointment. I was expecting a huge finale, but it was rather a limp ending. When you`ve seen amazing superhero films such as Superman I and II, Batman/Returns, X Men 1 and 2, but it was really the diet coke of the superhero films. The Day after Tomorrow had spectacular special effects, but the story was laughable.

The film I am getting excited this year is Ridley Scott`s new film called Kingdom of Heaven, which sounds really cool, and is about the Crusades, which knowing Scott this could be one huge epic, that will trounce Alexander.

Also the following films I`ll most likely go out and see:

Tim Burton`s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,
The Aviator,
Batman Begins, I`m hoping will go back to the gothic style and dark storyline.
King Kong
War of the Worlds

I`m sure they`ll be other movies coming soon, but as for now I`ll be putting my money towards collecting 70s and 80s films on DVD.

I might go out and see Episode III, depending how much I`ll get sucked in to the hype, but if it`s like the other two, I`ll wait for it to come out on Sky, the same goes for The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Do you know how long it would have taken for just one of these protein molecules to appear entirely by chance? Roughly ten to the two hundred and forty-third power billions of years. And I find that far, far more fantastic than simply believing in God.

1) To become divine ruler of a small eastern European country where i will be worshipped as a deity (one without too much sun, though). Romania perhaps.

2) To find a D.I.Y cure for Haemorrhoids, which doesn`t involve a small tourniquet and a pair of nail scissors - a perfect birthday present for my dad.

3) To smoke a wee bit less than last year.

4) Open the world`s first Cannibal restaurant.

I`m gonna loose about a stone in weight and get fitter than I am...

...I give it a week before I give up the exercise, and a month or so before I give up the diet! :D
