Advice on pubs in London ...

Dazb75 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Friday, 21st January 2005, 15:28

Me and 2 mates are travelling over (from NI) to London tomorrow to watch Chelsea play (and beat) Portsmouth. No comments please!

We`re staying in the Victoria area. Does anyone have any recommendations for good drinking hostelries. Preferably somewhere "down to earth" and with some decent music, as opposed to the kind of places where the drinks scowl at your shoes.

Go down The Bricklayers
Wear your Chelsea shirt
They`ll thank you for it.

Hmm ... And where exactly is The Bricklayers. North London perhaps?

Well I like Wetherspoons in Victoria (the one outside not in the station). You get some great ale at a good price although i can understand that many people would not consider that a proper pub.

I`ve only been in the one inside Victoria last year sometime. Whereabouts is the one outside?

Wetherspoons is near the Apollo Victoria Theatre - I think it is called Wilton Road.

Wetherspoons (The Tyburn) at Marble Arch/Edgware Road, is cheap for food & beer, wont be there tonight though (as they stopped the £3 burger & beer deal :( ).

I enjoy being wrong and clueless on other subjects - My wife usually alerts me to which ones, as there seem to be an awful lot around the house.

And please be quiet as you arrive and leave cos I live a stone`s throw from the bloody stadium. Just leave quiet and orderly and disperse quickly.
Thank you.
