Well done Royal Mail

David Beckett (Reviewer) posted this on Wednesday, 2nd March 2005, 17:47

I have given Royal Mail stick on these forums before but have been pleasantly surprised by today`s delivery. A letter was delivered to our house by the postman when the envelope only had:
the name,
the street and
an area of Darlington.

With no house number or postcode I am very suprised it arrived the day after it was posted so hats off to Royal Mail on this occasion. :)

It`s allways nice to praise when it is due. People are very quick to critersise.

all the best,

I`ve never had any problems either...except for this week when a package for my girlfriend`s birthday (which is on Friday) has mysteriously gone missing. It was sent out last Tuesday...

I was just suprised that our mail has started coming earlier (in the morning) and now this letter that, by all rights, should have been lost in the mail.

My only complaints were that, after the second post was axed, our mail started coming after 1pm rather than at 8am and that a postman once put a slip saying that he could not deliver a parcel when I was in the house!

That`s what I do for a living... I work for Royal Mail, the letters that aren`t addressed properly I deal with. :D
It`s amazing what I get at work, Mr so-and-so Liskeard area, nothing else, is one I had today!
Or Mr-so-and-so... address unknown, but still stamped the envelope. (:¦

I had a letter delivered to me a good 10 years or so ago, just had my name and a street on... not my street mind! It was the street opposite. But it still got to me.

I don`t know if this is an urban myth, but is a popular address that supposedly got delivered correctly

I think Royal Mail are terrible. As a seller of items on the internet they have managed to break 4 of my items. They were all well wrapped with FRAGILE PLEASE HANDLE WITH CARE. I think some idiot posties see this and deliberately break the item. You have to really attack one of my packages in order to break it.

And as for me getting other peoples mail this still goes on quite frequently.

Plaudits to my postie (NG6 Snape Wood) - spot on 9.00am every day, no problems at all - we`ve been very lucky and always had permanent staff on the round, but the present postie is top :)
