As it finished last night, just wondered what anyone thought? I liked it. I wasn`t intending to watch it, but as I was taping it for the missus I started watching it and was hooked (I`ll avoid a spoiler, but from the first word you know how they`re going to approach this and you either go with it or you start moaning about what they`ve done to a classic story etc etc zzz). Yer man from Blackpool is good but still not how I imagine old Giacomo...too `puny` looking for me!

Yep, a good laugh although in my opinion not as good as the Frank Findlay version (quite a few years ago!!). Typical Russell T Davies stuff. Bringing it to a 21st Century audience ala Doccie Who. Worth watching if anyone didn`t see it this time as I`m sure it will be on Beeb 1 in the near future.

Next Monday, 9 o`clock.
Throw in Tony Richardson`s "Tom Jones", a theme straight out of "The Crying Game" and another more recent (and brilliant, forgotten the name) film, a few idiosyncrasies from Ken Russel and Derek Jarman`s "Caravaggio" and you have the "new" Casanova".
Besides being down the same road several times, it was watchable.
IMHO.
I saw the first one tonight, I rather enjoyed it. This is why we need the BBC, they seem to be the only people departing from the `Midsummer Murders` type of programme that I hate with a vengeance.
I really enjoyed it, was much better than I thought it would be, from the trailers I thoght it was going to be an over camp over the top Plunket and McLaine.
But I thought it was funny, and well written and acted, looking forward to next weeks.
