I said beach!
A bit late in the day I know, but anyone discover some great beaches?
I have been to quite a few around the world, including Bondi (the pits), Ibiza (full of sewerage and Tahiti (too hot and dark sand making it worse).
The best beach I have found in the world for me is at Holkham, in Norfolk. Where they filmed the last scene in "Shakespeare in Love". It is stunning. Miles and miles of sand, sand dunes to hide in and privacy and surrounded by a wild forest. Another plus, for me ( probably not the watchers) is it has a vast nude section. I have never seen the point in wearing clothes on a beach and getting them wet. Just daft. So I never do. No white bits whatsoever.
Any other recommended beaches in the world?

When i saw the thread i thought i would come in and reveal the wonder that is Holkham Beach - i would say that it is the best i have been to by far.
...look into my eyes
You might have seen me. I was the one wearing......oh :)
yep, stunning isn`t it? The smell of the pines, the enormous expanse of sand. The long walk to get there, leaving it quite private.
Best beach in the world for me.
Blackpool beach? ;)

Sandbanks,
Poole Dorset.
Great beach, fantastic views of the Purbeck hills,
and on a good day the Isle Of Wight. :)
Dont forget it`s in Poole, often you will see Sandbanks Bournemouth, this is wrong.
I think you`re thinking of Studland beach (apt for you Bat ;) ) which is owned by the National Trust. It`s just after the Sandbanks Ferry on the way to Swanage.

From the NT site:
Quote:
[*]Glorious sandy beaches stretching for 3 miles
[*]A haven for rare birds and other native wildlife, embraces two national nature reserves
[*]The Trust`s only designated naturist area at Shell Bay
[*]Which? Magazine voted 4th top beach in the UK
Funnily enough, at the southern end of the beach, just before you get to Studland village, is a place call Redend Point. Sounds ideal for you ;)

By far the best beaches I have ever been on in the UK have been on the Western Isles of Scotland.
Miles and miles of unspoilt golden sands and beautiful clear turquoise water.
Only thing missing though is the sun!
