The humidity is so high I keep getting heavy, dull headaches.
Anyone else experiencing this at the moment?

If you are suffering from humidity (esp. with the clammy forehead, slightly cool to touch and a load of headaches) - try drinking an indian drink called Shikanjvi. one part lemon juice, 20 parts water, ice cubes, salt and sugar to taste. Use ordinary sugar and not sweeteners. Thisll refresh u unlike anything else

This heat is terrible.....young ladies walking around in tight little crop tops and shorts which reveal their long tanned smooth legs and sweating so much it clings to their young smooth bodies revealing they`re curves....

What am I saying??? This humidity is great! :x ;) :D

Our bloody air con stopped working today at work. it was so so hot, everyone was feeling really ill, but managment wouldnt sort it out or let anyone go home. i know from previous experiance that there are laws with the temp being to cold but is it the same when its to hot??

No idea, but I know it wasn`t fun in my un-air-conditioned truck, the one with the huge windows that heat up the already suffocating cab

No.

We have this arguement every year at work - there is no max working temp legislation. :/

We had a bit of a to-do at work about the heat a couple of months ago. It was bleedin hot and our new Foreman wanted to wear shorts. He`d been wearing shorts forever at his old branch, and understandably didn`t think there`d be a problem.

Unfortunately, our asst manager is a real stickler for the rules and forbade him from wearing his shorts. Grudglingly he obliged, but at the time, I was covering for a sick colleague driving one of the trucks. I put it to the manager that if it became so hot in my company policy back trousers in the un-air-conditioned truck that I passed out and ploughed into a bus queue full of children, that I could rightly pass the blame and responsibility onto them, as we have all pointed out that wearing long, black trousers in such heat couldn`t be safe. They told us that we had to stick to the rules.

A week later a memo was circulated that basically said that all staff has to wear the trousers, failure to do so is a disciplinirary offence, as we work in an environment with many hazardous materials, and if they fall onto our bare legs it can cause caustic burns.

I wrote them a letter pointing out that part of our existing uniform includes T-shirts.

We are now allowed to wear shorts, but only if we sign a form saying we won`t sue them if we become injured as a result. I`ve refused to sign it, as I wasn`t asked to sign a similar form upon my employment with regards to my bare arms.
