George Best`s Funeral

On BBC1 now (midday at time of writing), if interested.
I feel sorry for Callum. A funeral is tough enough, but being your fathers and in full glare of the cameras must be near intolerable.

For those that weren`t around in the sixties, it was a time when you could deservedly be proud to be British. The sixties phenomena began and ended in Britain. It was a time of huge changes and experimentation, all instigated by Britain, though the Americans tried to hijack it all. Britain was a wonderful, innovative and exciting place to be in.
A part of all this were the icons. The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Biba, Mary Quant, Twiggy, Julie Christie, Carnaby Street, King`s Road, the kitchen sink plays and the numerous film directors. All were famous world wide, not just in Britain.
George Best was a part of this era. Not many around the world knew much about the sport, but everyone new the name of George Best.

What a load of crap. :/ Most people did not own camper vans or live in London, all the sixties meant was struggling to earn a living on s*** wages...Unless you were a spoilt rich kid who shopped on Carnaby Street or King`s Road..... :/

Please reread. I am only mentioning the changes that were taking place at this time.
All the other "problems" continued.
But you DID have more opportunities opening up to those that weren`t rich. Before then it was the same old drudgery.
The rich had precious little to do with the sixties "movement".
