Page 1 of Band of Brothers

Just finished watching the first 2 episodes, and so far I think it`s great, I don`t care that it`s not historically accurate, the action was superb and the camerawork was amazing. anyone know when this is going to be released on R2 dvd?

OB..agree with you..it was very good, although the digital effects look as if they`re a little artificial in the same way as Ray Harryhausen`s dinosaurs were in all those `lost world` 50s and 60s films. Pleased to see Dexter Fletcher reprising his American accent from `Press Gang` (and even `Bugsy Malone`).

I love it too, will get it on R1 if they decide to bring it out.

The action was great, specially part 2. It`s like watching saving private ryan.

I have to agree, I really enjoyed it as well. It was gripping from the time it started, and it was a nice surprise for a Friday evening on BBC2. Shame on BBC1 for moving it around. It`d be great to get more people into it from day one.

I`d be up for the DVD version!

Great show - watched first two episodes on video again this evening. DVD release early next year.

For those of you that missed it the first time around, this is repeated on BBC1 tonight at 10:40pm. :-)

... And for those that don`t already know there are no plans within the immediate or near future (next 2 years) to release the series on DVD in any region. However, if the series continues to get strong audiences in each country that bought it then who knows?

From recent news there are now plans emerging for a set of the series although this is at the very early stages of development and no firm date will emerge until the new year (when the late spring/early summer release dates are announced).
