sorry long story.....

Going to the local B & Q store early Friday morning to collect some bits for a job at the weekend.

Dark, drizzly morning. On a slight s-bend in town(so not a fast road), noticed a car parked on double yellows about 20 metres from a pelican crossing which is located on a bend. Young woman stood beside the car for some reason, next thing a car came towards me, across the crossing, realised the other car was in his way, and swerved but didn`t quite make it. Ended up crushing the woman between the two cars!! She then promptly fell into the road.

I pulled up behind her car between it and the crossing, full beam and hazards on to try and stop anyone coming round the bend hitting her whilst she was down. Went back to see if she was ok and just had time to speak to her before another car came round the bend, braked and slid into my car! sssssssssshhhh.crump.

Oh dear I thought(like you do),

the other car was a R reg Rover 214 which ended up bouncing back a couple of feet with a newly rearranged front end. Bonnet mangled, healights smashed, grille etc busted beyond recognition. When I got to look at my car, which luckily is a company car, what do I see?........the bloody badge had fallen off!! I kid you not, pranged at about 25-30 mph and all I lost was a stupid plasti-chrome badge.

Apparently, the Rover driver is now looking to buy a Renault Laguna........

ps, woman ended up in hospital mild concussion and bruised etc but otherwise seems ok keeping her in a few days just in case

pps, finally got home(didn`t get to B & Q) to have to rush my daughter to hospital where she presented us with our first grandchild.

perfect end to a wierd day

silly post i know but hey I`M Grandad so i don`t really care

drive safely

Renaults are supposed to be proper hard motors...

Well done to you for stopping to look after the woman...

Congrats on the birth of your grandchild :)

We used to have an old style transit, which we got stuck teetering on the edge of a ditch after sliding on ice. We were stood by the side of the van when another, new style transit came along, tried to stop to help, and slid straight into the side of the van where we were stood. Luckily he was already slowing down, giving us time to run like hell before he hit. Made quite a mess of the front of his van, which sadly was a company one, and when we looked at ours, it had chipped a tiny piece of metal off the wheelarch. :D They don`t make them like they used to, obviously :D

We`ve got a couple of late model Lagunas here.
They certainly fare well in ENCAP crash tests (5 stars,as are most Renaults),but their reliability is a bit suspect and they are far from well built...
The things have been full of rattles and creaks from new.

see you found my passport photo

My Laguna is a 55 plate. Done 27000+ since Feb no problems at all(now I`ve gone and done it!)

he only thing I am not too keen on is the auto handbrake. I know it makes it a doddle to pull away etc but what do you do if it stalls? you can`t just push it out the way as I can`t see how you release the brake.
