RE: HP repayment on a car question, thanks

Think twice as letting the HP company take the car back may/will affect your friends credit rating.

RE: Free Sennheiser MX300 Headphones

RE: Am i being a prude?

Stuart,

that`s the sort of response that doesn`t really help. The OP wanted to know if he was being a prude. As a dad to two girls( 22 & 20) and a grandad, I think your response is typical of the no respect ideology of today. Of course there are more important things in the world today - to those it affects. This problem affects the poster. I would not have wanted my daughters , when they were younger, to sing these sorts of lyrics, Whether they understood them or not. What`s next? Get them to dress like tarts? They may not know what it means. But I am damn sure other less moralistic people do!!

So if you cannot give sensible advice then keep your opinions to yourself.

Surely what he means is precedent setting?

As in the first to start a new line ......

RE: Judge lets off rapist of girl, 10

This just shows that the Judge is a paedo helper. For crying out loud, I cannot think of any sensible person who cannot tell a 10 year old as opposed to maybe a 14 year old that tries to look 16.

Bad enough that the perv raped her twice. But now all he has to do is get hold of another little girl, get her dressed up and just say "well she looked old enough your honour..honest"

And it took two of them?

I hope the pervs who we now know by name, don`t have any nasty accidents..honest your honour

RE: Gatecrasher is on fire and about to collapse

That`s what I get each month. It is an advance notification of them taking out your monthly charges, that`s all.

RE: Band of Brothers Boxset - £17.99

Thanks for the heads up, never seen it but everybody who has seems to rave about it. At that price I`ll give it a go

RE: Travelodge Summer £15 Room Sale *starts Thursday*

They ran this offer at the beginning of the year. Got a £15 night in Worksop which meant I could get to my mates 50th birthday bash from down south, as the Travelodge was 1/2 mile from his house. Lots to drink(lemonade of course) walked both ways. No need for taxis etc.

Travelodges are great for the occasional night - wouldn`t want to spend too many nights there though. Stayed in the Notingham one for 3 nights late last year due to work commitments(couldn`t get into a decent hotel). Had a Harry Ramsdens adjacent, but that was it. Had to drive around the area to find somewhere to go. TV doesn`t really make you want to stay in the room either. Basic 5 channels plus 2 bl***y german channels and one of those was dubbed from english

Even so £15 is what they are really worth

RE: Removed from the house...

Funny how the Head of Commissioning at Channel 4 said that the `n` word was unnecessary but she used it whilst saying this!!!!

Bill

RE: Bloody e-bay !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not strictly on-topic. We had a shop open recently in the area called " I sold it on e-bay". You took your goods to them, they flogged it on e-bay and paid you after commission. Mind you, they didn`t say what the commission would be on any adverts I saw. Anyway, drove past today and they have gone

Wouldn`t have used them anyway

RE: Homes `to cost ten times salary`

I know all us existing homeowners are laughing.oh look my house is worth 6,7 or 8 + times what we paid for it(we paid £22,000 in 1987 for a 3-bed EOT and it`s been valued now at £225000) But the problem is that people trying to get on the housing ladder are really having difficulty. And of course if you sell to buy again the prices are frightening. The only way it would work for me was if I was either downsizing or selling to not buy again.

Scary.

RE: Are my neighbours taking the p*** or what?

I think you will find that the Police won`t want anything to do with this, all the time your car is off your drive. Getting onto your land is not their problem. But if your car is on your drive and they are preventing you leaving, you can call the Police and get the vehicles removed.

In my area that is what happens

RE: POLL: How many muffins can a puffin eat

In this PC world no it probably isn`t illegal anymore. And the way they are going with paedos if it is illegal it won`t be for long.

Until a mule complains

RE: POLL: How long did you go out with your partner before getting married?

met and married within a year. Two lovely daughters and one fantastic grandson later coming up for 31 years in chains..............keep telling her I would have got less for murder even without time off for good behaviour(doesn`t even have to be that good nowadays but don`t get me started!!!)

Bill

RE: Who says Belgium is boring

all signed up. Wonder if it will be like a blow j............sorry better not do the Etheopian(sp) joke

RE: Pompey new stadium

Gaffski,

do you really think they will manage to do it this time. After all the previous plans etc? And to be honest that is the totally wrong location. It should have been either Tipnor or Cosham. Having everyone going through Portsmouth to get to Gunwharf, trying to find somewhere to park(not easy now, let alone with 30000+ hopefully) is just asking for problems.

I really hope Pompey get their new stadium(when I was an apprentice electrician used to do the floodlights at Fratton Park, it was a dump behind the scenes) but they really need to think about the location.

RE: Electric heating

Bowfer,

is the retirement place purpose built? My mum bought a retirement flat last year(McCarthy & Stone) and she has the electrical heaters. Thers is no gas on site at all so she couldn`t have gas heating if she wanted anyway. But the electrical heaters work just find. And they don`t seem to be too costly

RE: Decking over concrete

I put a small deck in the far corner of my garden, its where the sun ends the day. It was on grass, removed the grass, put membrane down to prevent weeds, frame and then deck

would you need to attach the deck to the slab?. The weight of the deck, joists etc would prevent any movement. You may need to put a membrane down to isolate the joists from the slab for weeds, moisture

I would make a frame from possibly 4 x 2 timber , make sure the frame is flat level, and screw the decking on top of the frame. Edge the front with timber for decor etc

good luck

RE: converting avi to dvd

I use VSOs dvixtodvd.

Excellent programme. Free version does one file, if you "upgrade" then multiple files can be joined together on on edisk. Quite often download several episodes of tv programmes(Prison Break, Lost, greys Anatomy etc) and can get 6 or 7 episodes on DVD

No it doesn`t just convert Divx to dvd I mainly download AVI files

RE: Advice on making DVD slideshows please

Proshow Gold.

Brilliant for slideshows. Add your own music, fades wipes endless choices.

RE: Mesh Computers

I have had my Mesh about 3 years now. No problems at all.

Only pain in the arse was I wanted to buy it on 9 months interest free but some twat at Mesh put it straight on my Mastercard. Bit of a shock when the statement arrived.

But again the pcs great

RE: Help - Wireless Security Camera

Maplins do wireless cameras with a mini viewer, you may be able to find what you want there

RE: What program do I need to burn DVD`s?

badboybez

you can get more than 3 progs on a dvd using Divx2DVD. I use it to convert Prison Break, Greys Anatomy, Lost etc so instead of just watching one prog you can waste a whole evening.

Has to be the full programme though I think

RE: Terminator vs. Robocop - Movie Preview

Robocop is a pussy Terminator would wipe his a**e with him.

RE: The official heartless bastard\pining for the fjord jokes or what to do with a dead bunny threa

RE: they build those Renault Lagunas well

see you found my passport photo

My Laguna is a 55 plate. Done 27000+ since Feb no problems at all(now I`ve gone and done it!)

he only thing I am not too keen on is the auto handbrake. I know it makes it a doddle to pull away etc but what do you do if it stalls? you can`t just push it out the way as I can`t see how you release the brake.
