Just helped to bury my cousin`s 6hr old baby girl
Fatima was to be their first child and she was born 2 mths only and died after 6hrs yesterday. Funeral was today. What can you say to someone when that happens? When my cousin says he sees his nephews and neices and was looking forward to playing with his own child - I cant think what to say.
Funeral (Jenaza) was today and just like in all the films in rained all the way through it.

My best frind miscarried at 40 weeks (due date). Her baby was given a full Catholic funeral with an open coffin (I found that hard to take). There are no words to help at these difficult times, but you can support your cousin just by being there and helping with anything.
I catered at the wake and ran round after everyone topping up glasses etc. Afterwards, my friend said I had been a rock. It still didn`t seem enough, but I had helped.

Sometimes saying nothing helps, when accompanied by just being there for people.

I would agree. Just be there for them and be prepared to listen...

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...
And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

We had two miscarriages in a row.
The first was pretty awful,as the first we knew of any problem was when we went in for a scan and they couldn`t find a heartbeat. :(
The second was more `conventional`,in that it was patently obvious something was wrong.
My cousin had a full term still-born too.
The hospital spotted pre-eclampsia (sp) too late.
By way of hope,we both went on to have normal pregnancies and healthy kids.
I`m sure your relative won`t want to hear "it`ll be alright",but it will.

Words really are cheap in some instances but sadly that is all we can offer your family at this terribly sad time.
The loss of a young one is a burden that far too many have to carry but hopefully the words offered by the fine members of this board may help to lessen that burden of sadness and make a difficult time slightly better.
Take care mate and remind your cousin that many people are thinking of them and wishing them well in the coming days and weeks.

Rehan,
My sister had a stillbirth around 6 years ago........the baby died 6 months into pregnancy.....we had a full on funeral and everything too followed by a ceremony at the Sikh Temple..................its absolutely gut wrenchingly horrible for the whole family...My sisters now gone onto having a beautiful boy and a girl
I dont really know what to say but life will get better with time :)

My mother had two miscarriages and my brother died at two weeks.
She still can`t speak about it.
Silenct support maybe all they need at this time.
Thoughts are with them.
