I own a Toshiba SD 2109 Multi-region player, and like most multi region owners i was more than a little peed off that Columbia and Warner have introduced this stupid campaign to stop people from importing R1discs.
Now, i`m not bothered about The Patriot or the forth coming Perfect Storm, but there will be plenty more titles in the future that will be RCE`d to hell. I for one would like to see this stupid idea dropped and whoever thought it up should be hung, drawn and quartered. But in the mean-time if anyone knows a temporary solution to RCE then let me know ASAP.

Alternatively, you could support Region 2 releases. Every time you buy a Region 1 that is one less R2 sale, no wonder R2 don`t get as many extras. R1 sales are flourishing due to the whole of europe importing R1, if everyone switched to R2 then it would be worthwhile for the studios to create better DVDs.

Have some common sense, buy Region 2

One of the main reasons people where ordering R1`s was because R2`s where complete pants!

The reason R2`s are getting better is because many people jumped ship, if they had not R2`s would still be s***e today.

This reason was backed by The British company that released the superior version of Sleepy Hollow, who admitted that the special features and animated menu`s where done to woo people back to R2 after being fed really poor quality R2`s in the past.

I have to say it does my block in, why should we be dictated to as to what and where we buy our goods, if we want them from the States we should be allowed, same as if we want them from the igloo shop 50 stories underground at the north pole, its all a crock of s***e if i say so myself. Warnker etc. want rce cramming up their asses. End of rant.

I`ll Support R2 when R2 supports me i.e. same quality titles at a reasonable price with good extra`s and released within a reasonable time scale.

Until then R2 can suck my TOSH!

We may have total freedom to buy what we want but we might not soon if RCE (pronounced ARSE by the way) persists.

Two schools of thought:

(1) Either we ditch R1 totally and support R2 to the hilt, as Smiler suggests, and make do with substandard features until McWarnkers et al feel that these sales are going up again and start to improve the features/release dates (i.e dream on)

or

(2) We just keep buying in R1 and find evil and devious methods of thwarting the bastards` encryption methods

I know which I`d prefer.....

What do you guys think ?
