Page 1 of What`s the best biscuit?
General Forum
Just been having a highly challenging discussion in the office over biscuits. What do you think is the best biscuit, and why...?
In no particular preference.
Cadburys chocolate fingers or McVities chocolate digestives.
Then Huntley & Palmers ginger nuts.
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.
When fishermen catch dolphin-friendly tuna, how do they know which tuna are being friendly to dolphins?
RE: What`s the best biscuit?
I would certainly concur with Rass`s McVities chocolate digestives, but would add Custard Creams (note the capitals, as I think they are that important) and a similar version with two digestives with a cream filling - but their name, generic or otherwise, escapes me for the moment...tha`ll p**s me off all day!
...oh yes...and Bourbons :-)

Choc hob nobs rule.
You used to be able to buy Milk & Honey creams, I believe by Huntley & Palmer, though I haven`t seen them for years - decades even.
Now they were the ultimate indulgence!
Ah yes, I was right - here is what that site you gave the linky to says about them:
Milk and Honey
Manufacturer Huntley and Palmer
Status Discontinued
Last sighted Early 1970s
Description A sandwich biscuit, much in the style of a Jam Sandwich cream. Oval in shape with a central oval cut out under which was a pale brown honey caramel like flavoured filling. Beneath this was a layer of cream filling.
Pack Pale yellow tin
Yikes, was it THAT long ago? :o

I would say Custard Cream is my fave "classic" biscuit, but Chocolate Hob Nobs are probably my fave of "recent" times.
