Dead arm. I mean REALLY dead arm (medical subject)
Woke up this morning (naturally, not by having a 4-year old knee in the unmentionables), to lazily realise I had no idea where my left arm was. Sounds a bit odd, but I couldn`t feel it, move it, or seriously have any clue what position it was in. After actually waking up a bit more, and waking Annie up in a confused panic, I realised it was above my head resting on the pillow, obviously this affected the circulation, and totally killed it. It wasn`t painful, but there was no life in it at all. I had to use my other arm to physically heave it to a position lower than my heart (still laying down) so the blood would flow back to the fingers. I was alarmed at how much a dead human arm actually weighs, especially when it`s flopping all over the place.
It`s fine now, thankfully, but aside from the obvious probable circulatory problem, should I regard this as a prelude to a GP visit, or is this just a natural occurance and I shouldn`t be alarmed? (It`s happened before, but It wasn`t as alarming as this time)

Don`t be alarmed. This is quite a normal thing if you cut of circulation in your arms when you sleep.

God you lot are all falling apart at the mo ;)
Stanz really dont worry about it, it was just lack of circulation due to positioning.

There is nothing more physically demanding than moving/positioning a dead body - they are literally a dead weight. Usually takes 4-6 of us to respectfully move someone who has been dead for a while :/

Happens to me quite regularly. It`s really fun when it happens to both arms at the same time... :D

Happened to my leg when I got it trapped under some rubble (long story). It went dead and when I got it out finally and the blood rushed back into it... one of the most painful things I`ve experienced.

when I got it out finally and the blood rushed back into it... one of the most painful things I`ve experienced. You were lucky then. If the blood supply is cut off for a prolonged period of time, toxins build up in the crushed area, then when the pressure is taken off, the toxins hit the heart and it`s goodnight, sweet prince.

You`re a bundle of laughs today, aren`t you, Pete?
