Page 1 of Anyone else have lip sync errors with a lot of titles with JMB DVD 3000?

Entertainment Region 2 discs seem to be the worst offenders: Austin Powers and Blade - the disc keeps jumping and making that funny whirring noise... people will talk out of sync with the dialogue. These two discs were also bought in a sale in HMV... is that unusual? Region 1 discs are a bit iffy, too - Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition just stops halfway through the film every so often! Does anyone else experience any of these problems? I sometimes find that by scanning fwd or bwrd sometimes makes the lip sync go back to normal.

Matsui 120 (either identical or just very similar) occasionally does this, especially if I`ve been faffing about with the remote (pause, back, play), but is easily corrected by pressing stop the play.
As I`m a newcomer to DVD I can shed no light on the specific disks you mention.

Sounds to me like your discs are dirty, nothing more - I have the same player, multi region and have used lots of region 1 and 2 discs and have never found this a problem. The only time I have encountered this is when I rent a DVD and it is sirty or scratched.

What scene does your terminator 2 stop?

I had a disc and while watching the "Special Edition", at the scene where John and Sarah have the Terminator Switched off and Sarah tries to destroy the chip, my player went mental and skipped to the next chapter!!

Turned out to be a faulty disc and maybe there is a batch of them!

Try it on a mates DVD player or something and if is stops in the same place, return it and get a replacement!

Stewart mines does the exact same thing. It also sometimes freezes and no button on the remote will work, meaning that i have to turn the machine off and back on again... weird!

I also got my disc from play247, but they don`t accept returns.
