HELP! winDVD program (I know its not hardware but you guys in this forum are the best!)

I am having a problem with winDVD on my PC, the OEM version given to me by my PC manufacturer doesn`t allow me to select 6 channel 5.1 surround sound from the menu, it has the select box for it greyed out and cannot be selected from the sound menu.

Please can anyone help, does anyone know a different serial number to use when installing the program which will activate this feature or a patch/crack that will remove the "Greyed out" boxes and let me select it?? Thanks

Do you have a 5.1 sound card and/or how is that set up?

I have an ASUS motherboard with 6 channel surround sound - set up to produce that, I have Videologic 5.1 speaker set - 5 small speakers and 1 sub woofer, the system is fine as when playing games etc it is in surround sound. The problem is with the piece of software, I think because its the OEM version of winDVD it doesn`t have all the features unlocked, but I was wondering if there was a way round this by entering a different serial code when installing, or crack/hack that will remove the lock on some of the options.

I thought like you that it was a problem with my hardware at first, but it isn`t, any ideas???

I`ve an OEM WinDVD at home I`ll have a look to see if mine is greyed out, probably won`t get a chance to do it before Saturday though.

Unless you have the full version I would guess the option for Multi-speaker / 5.1 etc will be Greyed out.
No idea about Crack/Patch but TBH I try to steer clear of searches for cracks / patches .Unfortunately I have searched for patches for pukka gen games like Red Alert 2 or Thief 2 and ended up on smut sites. If you do search for a crack/patch be careful and watch out for crap.
JMHO folks :-)

Sorry to be so late getting back to you, but yes I only get the option of two speakers, lots of options under two speakers, all available, nothing beyond two speakers is i.e. all greyed out.
Except SPDIF which which seems to work fine.

Hello Andy,

The OEM version does not have 6 channel support, without the `crack` that`s referred to in this thread. I have the full version, it has DD 5.1, DTS 5.1, Headphone surround options plus some other nice little features.

There are various Websites that the Full Version and the Crack is available on, one in particular I`ve checked (in the last 5 mins), still has it.

I suppose the official advive is buy it, but if you look hard enough, it`s there.

Hope this helps,

Neil.
