Will it freeze: Bush DVD-2009

waytony (Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 21st October 2000, 20:07

Hi, i have just bought as a gift for my Dad, a Bush DVD-2009.
When testing it i found that it played both R1 & R2 discs perfectly well without any kind of hack. Now my problem is that i have heard of players that play R1 a few times and then sieze up and stop working.
Is my Bush player on of these players?
Does such a problem really exist?
If yes what should i do to keep it multi region but still working?

Please help me.

Tony

Waytony i am no xpert but i would be surprised if it locked up.the only player i know of that does this is the phillips models after 25 goes of hacking it with the remote.

anyway if your player did lock up (which i doubt) it would be under guarntee so you would only need to take it back.

HITACHI 505 IS THE BUISNESS!!!!!!!!!

The only problem you MAY come across is RCE R1 discs but the worst thing that`ll happen is the disc simply won`t play and you`ll get a lovely patronising message from the Big Nobs at McWarnker exposing you as the son of Satan.
You SHOULD be okay, but in my best Purveyor of Doom voice "There`s always a first time..." Expect someone somewhere has this problem, especially Philips owners !!! (bless `em)

clayts only those phillips owners daft enough to use that remote hack 25 times would have this problem.the phillips 710 also seems to pass the rce test why use the handset hack when you can have it recoded for £25.

may i also point out the phillips 710 has the best god dam picture ive seen it is not a feture rich player but for outright quality you cant go wrong
im talking 0 artifacts pixelisation whats that.?

i have had 6 or 7 players now so i am in a fairly good position to compare it to theese crappy budget players with which i have had many woes.

also i will point out you can now get the 710 for £190 multireigon even if you do lock it up you can still have it reccoded to permanently fix the problem and be multireigon.

Phillips kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hitachi 505 what can i say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Bush 2002 and although i had to apply a hack (open 77 enter) i have had no trouble at all. I do not know if the hack is the same.

Could you just tell me if the 2009 has a built in Dolby Digital decoder?

Thanks

Paul

The 2009 is essentially a decoderless 2002 (i.e. no, it doesn`t have a decoder built-in), although it`s a wee bit smaller - looks a little bit like a VCR actually (but thankfully it doesn`t chew up your tapes or confuse you when you try to program it...)

Hope this helps

Clayts :-)
