Page 1 of Handheld computers?
PCs & Mobiles Forum
Could anyone tell me if the handheld computers are any good? I`d mainly be using it for writing purposes, using Pocket Word.
I do understand that a laptop would be far more suitable, but my pocket will not stretch that far...unfortunately!

Handhelds are ok but no one make one with a decent keyboard if you are ok with taping on a small screen then you will be ok but if you can find on the psion is the best for a keyboard you can pic on up fairly cheap on ebay

You can always get one of those snazzy fold-up full-size keyboards. Don`t know how good they are, don`t use one meself.
I`ve got an ageing Handspring Visor Deluxe (Palm OS). Couldn`t live without it (tho` I could do with an upgrade).
I have a HP Jornada 710 which is quite old :(
Picked it up from Jungle.com approx. 2 years ago at half price £220 ish!
It is quite heavy, but flips open to reveal a qwerty keyboard and a large landscape colour screen.
Is ideal for ebooks, has windows for pocket pc etc.
You could do a search for one of these also try jornada 720 which I beleive is very similar and see what is available now.
I would think that you could find something similar to suit your needs.
If your mainly interested in writing then you don`t really need anything particularly wizzo so I`d suggest looking at S/H laptops.
Try www.morgancomputers.co.uk as well.

Hello,
This is very good value... http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=108344
It`s the bottom end, but Expansys have a huge range of others, it`s a good site to browse around...
Good luck,
Neil.
