Page 1 of What`s your screen resolution?

I`ve been experimenting with a few different screen resolutions lately, and was thinking what is the most widely used? Mine is currently on 1280 x 1024 and it seems alright, maybe a little TOO small. Any suggestions/comments?

Main monitor (18.1" Eizo TFT) is 1280x1024, secondary monitor (shoddy 15" thing) 1024x768 - this IS small, but I only use it to push floating menus onto, and other odds and ends - anything I wanto to look at properly gets moved onto the main monitor.

Twin monitors is fantastic, I must say - wouldn`t be without it.

mine runs at 1280x960, proper 4:3 resolution.

If it is CRT, I think a 14" monitor is best run at 800x600, a 17" best run at 1024x768, and 19" at 1280x1024.

But if you have an LCD, then the viewing area is genuinely what the monitor size says it is, so treat a 15" as a 17", a 17" as a 19", and so on, for the above. :)

I used to have my 17" set at 800x600, until I found this site and had to resize it to 1024x768, which is a bit small, but otherwise the horizontal scroll bars are REALLY annoying >:(

1152x864 for me. I use a 17" CRT (quite a generous one - about 16" viewable).

I used to have my 19" CRT on 800x600 :o because I can`t get 100Hz at higher resolutions and lower refresh rates seriously hurt my eyes. After seeing this thread I`ve put it up to 1024x768 for a while (at 85Hz) as some applications require it.

Everything`s so small now....

But mine is 1280x1024 too on a 17" TFT. Looks about the same as 1024x768 on a normal 17" TFT.

Same as Marks. 15" TFT 1024x768. Default resolutions all round.

My old man used to run his 17" monitor on `My first computer` resolution until i fiddled with it. It vhanged the way Excel Spreadsheets look forever ;)
